Introduction
Technology is a central and dynamic factor in our society and our lives as it turns faster than we even notice it. It includes enhancing the already existing technologies or innovation of new ones, increasing the propensity and coming up with new products. This process has three main stages: Invention, innovation, and diffusion that are known to determine progress in the modern industries. Availability of enhanced technology has significantly transformed human existence as known today in a bid to change the methods we use in communicating to the methods of doing business.
The Stages of Technological Change
Technological change starts with Invention where a new product or way of working is developed. The article gives an example of the telephone, a device that revolutionised communication because it allowed real time conversation over large distances. This state of being is about new making which is providing the first creative solution.
After that, comes Innovation, which is a process in which this invention is ready for commercial use and constantly enhanced in order to fit into people’s lives. Telephones are a good example where innovation saw development of models, which are basic tools used in homes and businesses for communication, and are daily necessities in connection.
Last but not least, let’s discuss the Diffusion stage, in which the technology reaches the population, and enterprises. For example mobile phones initially were called for call devices only but later developed into gadgets supporting texting- emailing and video calls among other things and this shows how technology develops from a particular function and then becomes an indispensable part of our everyday use.
Impact on Everyday Life
New technologies have brought change by providing new products and the improvement of the production process. For example, contemporary gateways are nowadays managing quite a variety of activities, thereby easing the process and making it accessible. This change in technology has also increased efficiency to many areas meaning that people will do things in the shortest time. For instance, robot vacuums are used which mean they clean the compound without involving human effort. These advance assisting growth in the field of economy since it fosters the growth of industries and their products.
Challenges with Technological Change
When it comes to using technology there are of course advantages and disadvantages. Technicalization and sophisticated procedures affect workers, which is the replacement of activities once performed personally by people with the aid of computers. Moreover, people have been gradually losing their independence as the society heavily leans on the utilisation of technology: to move, cook, clean, work, etc. This dependency can make individuals and communities be less self-sufficient as they rely on the technology to perform some tasks.
The Bottom Line
Technology remains a dominant social force defining new terrains and transforming the ways in which human beings exist and interact. Although it increases productivity and creativity, it means having to address new conditions. With these we embrace, new opportunities are created for technology and man to be one as they become interchangeable.
